What I pre-planned

• github timeline
  • get feedback from rohan, sister and homies
  • implement thumbnails, showcase, likes
  • fix payment integration

What new did I learn

• learnt about the amazing AT protocol, self-owned social media thought of as a filesystem
• google tells users upfront they will be reading chat :(
• X algorithm based on grok was made open-source, some details about such architecture in production
• generate QR codes with custom images in it
• lots of real life production deployment issues even before launch
  • reliability of db servers, cold starts and fking browser cache which seems to break my site on deployment
• not just me who imagined expanding objects in dreams as a kid
• realized why thumbnails are called thumb-nails
• really good read on using AI to build good art - isometric nyc

Where/How did I implement it

• did some memory optimization for nodejs fastify backend server, garbage collection, open sockets cleanup
• implemented a lot of features for github timeline
  • implemented a thumbnail generation pipeline, storing to bucket
  • migrated database from neon postgres to cloudflare d1 sql for cheaper and reliable service
• got feedback from lots of people before after improvements

Any memorable moments of the week

• a penguin got viral because it was different
• bought my first steam game - peak
  • played a lot with shank and sanskar
• jjk s3 is so good. also sentenced to be a hero has good plot as well
• sister and me made chilla first time
