Week 95

What I pre-planned

• reevaluate future for work, finance and time
• solder and complete bhai hardware
• work
  • maintenance and feature rollouts
  • prepare past year work review summary
• make something on the blank cardstock

What new did I learn

• railway is pretty expensive for anything more than a single project or about 3-4 services
  • hetzner is a good cheap alternative for about the same cost but won’t exceed cost
  • OCI should be good, card got accepted but out of capacity and cannot switch to PAYG
• i’ve gotten really good at soldering even with the shitty iron i have
• similar to johari windows there is eisenhower matrix and a version of it we thought ourselves (me and manav)
  • like/dislikes vs benifit/useless: it is quite difficult to make these choices
• there was a gas leak in my lpg regulator :( glad that it did not end badly and was verey small

Where/How did I implement it

• registered to OCI but could not get any VM due to capcity issues
• bought a hetzner server and IP and migrated entire githubtimeline and umami analytics to VPS
  • it was very fun and also setup caddy, portainer for easy maintenance later
• first bhAI wearable prototype finally made, working. It looks cool will do some final firmware changes and start wearing
• got the cylinder checked, urgently replaced a new one
  • got the hose and regulator replaced
• gave in some ways my first techinical interview. solved basic system design questions from scratch without ever studying lol
• made the first two cards, one rarity index and the first Van de Graff generator card (R). very happy with how it turned out

Any memorable moments of the week

• first bhAI protoype ready. super happy with the result
• GTP momentum event was fun
  • as usual won the main puzzle event (trophy + speaker). gave the speaker and trophy to other team members as I already had
  • got called out for a quick interview for testimony recordings
• gas leak was scary, was sus since last month because of very tiny smell but didn’t realize it wasn’t normal
  • also the weight on it is nett weight not gross
• card drawing came out good. micron pens are fun
